The first international Training Course in Palermo

From 21st to 25th May 2018 the Training Course (TC1) of the European project (Erasmus+ KA2) “European Network for Social Inclusion – ENSI” was held in Palermo (Italy), organized by the Coordinator of the project People Help the People, in collaboration with Centro Internazionale delle Culture Ubuntu (Italy).

They participated n. 33 people among parents, educators, social animators, volunteers from organizations working for the inclusion of children and adolescents with learning difficulties, coming from each partner country

The TC1 was conducted in English through a non-formal methodology using the facilitation method and through the active participation and creative production of innovative solutions applicable to different contexts, giving life to a model to be experimented at local level.

During the Training Course were compared the best practices of each project partner organization, in the context of education and inclusion of children and adolescents with learning difficulties.

From the presentation of the best practices of each partner has emerged a sharing of methods in the activities of reception and organization aimed at children and adolescents with learning difficulties, but also a large gap from the point of view of the legislation in recognizing or not a child or a teenager like SEN.

After the Training Course, each participant in own country will organize a local training with colleagues and will test the techniques and methodologies learned during the TC1 activity, involving families, schools, associations and foreign children. With them the compensatory methodologies will be tested to facilitate the language learning, scholastic success and social inclusion.

The purpose of the project is to present non-formal education as an inclusion tool for everyone, especially for those who did not have a formal education system like immigrant children.

Therefore, the aim is to compare the methods adopted in the different partner countries in order to develop a language learning model that can be used regardless of the country of the children.

The project objectives concerns improving the role of parents and educators in the non-formal sector and organizations such as support structures for social inclusion of children and teenagers with special educational needs.

After the first Partners Meeting, each organization, will prepare an analytical report on the difficulties of learning and social inclusion of children and adolescents with learning difficulties. The analysis should cover the legislative, methodological, pedagogical and socio-educational aspects.
